Aurekai · cross-density

The best source is not the one with the most entries.

A source that files ten thousand headlines illuminates one dimension of the world ten thousand times. A council page that files two hundred items naming money, people, organisations and dates illuminates six. This ranks every source this estate reads by how many dimensions its material actually carries, measured as a share of what it files rather than whether it ever happened once.

Each mark is a source. Across: how much it has filed, on a log scale. Up: how many dimensions its material carries. If the two were the same thing this would be a diagonal line.

Every source, by what it illuminates

A bar is filled by the share of that source's material carrying the mark, and lit when the share passes the floor for that dimension. A source can be dense and small; most of the largest are not.
